Geography long term plan

What Geography looks like

 KS1

Elm class this term will be what they can find and see in their gardens and homes!

Birch Class are thinking all about how things grow and will be looking at maps of their local area. I wonder what they will discover?

Oak Class are also comparing a country to the UK, they will be exploring the way of life, weather, animals and plants you can find there. Where do you think you would rather live?

Take a look at what they have been up to:

 KS2

Year 3 are studying Volcanoes! They are locating them using maps and will be finding out about how they erupt and why people still live near them.

Year 4 are researching mountains, their locations using an Atlas index , how they are formed and discovering what a mountainous climate is like and why people choose to live there.

Year 5 are delving into Mexico! They have located Mexico in the Atlas and drawn their own maps showing the capital city and surrounding seas. They will be discovering Mexico's climate and culture and comparing this to ours in the UK.

Year 6 are taking thoughtful action and considering how we can live more sustainably and will be evaluating how sustainable our way of life in our local area really is.
