Art in EYFS and KS1
Elm and Birch are exploring the natural world around them from apples to hedgehogs to ladybirds. The children are always busy being creative and experimenting with the tools around them. Here are some examples of their learning:
Willow class are exploring the art of Wassily Kandinsky this term. They have first created their own colour wheels to learn about the primary and secondary colours. Then they experimented with adding black and white to colours to create tone and here they are painting some concentric circles!
Oak class are learning all about the abstract artist Piet Mondrian. They also began their unit by painting a colour wheel to recap their learning from last year. They researched into the life and work of Piet Mondrian and have begun to paint in his style. Next they'll be recreating a map of Alsagers Bank in his style!
Art in KS2
Ash and Sycamore class have been exploring art in the Stone Age. They began by looking at cave art and then used charcoal to recreate their own. They have also been gatherers and collected sticks and attached feathers to the end to make their own paint brushes which they'll be using to paint with paint that they've made themselves!
Maple class are learning about Ancient Greek art. They have looked at different forms of artwork such as statues and pottery to help them design their own Ancient Greek pot which they have just begun to make!
